I’ve been caught in a whirlwind of activity lately. It’s our busiest time of the year at the agency. In the world of advertising, Ramadan is the equivalent of the Super Bowl of the Middle East. Companies vie to produce the most memorable – preferably award-winning – commercial).
In addition to a full-time job, recovering from a leg injury, volunteering at events and keeping up with Kuwait’s social scene (phew!), I have been working on a small section in Kuwait’s architectural project at the Venice Biennale. The project is too complicated to get into here but suffice it to say that I am in need of a long vacation. When will I stop juggling a million projects and learn how to say no?
On a lighter note, we celebrated my friend’s birthday today with a French/Amélie theme. We surprised her with brunch (which she almost didn’t show up to!) and made sure the table was laden with breads, cheeses, jams and a vegetarian quiche. The slideshow of photos from Paris with the playlist sort of fell apart – but we were too busy eating to care!
Talking to the girls about how busy I’ve been lately made me realize that I need longer brunches and less work in my life. I need more cheese, more fresh bread and a whole lotta more strawberry cake.
